Asker awarded a Gold rating by EcoVadis

Asker Healthcare Group has been awarded a Gold rating by EcoVadis for its achievements within sustainability.

The need for medical supplies, devices and equipment in the healthcare sector puts pressure on the planet in terms of production, transportation and waste. In total the healthcare sector generates 4.4% of the global carbon emissions – equivalent to the fifth largest country in the world.

“As a vital link between production and consumption, we are determined to drive progress. We have been working to make a positive impact, consistently and ambitiously, for some years with both environment, social and governance matters. The Gold rating is confirmation that we are focusing on the right issues”, says Sanna Norman, Head of ESG at Asker Healthcare Group.

The Gold rating places Asker in the top 5% of more than 100,000 companies assessed by the global sustainability ratings provider worldwide.

Ecovadis rates companies based on the standards of GRI, UNGC, ILO and ISO 26000 in four themes: Environmental, Labor & Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement. The assessment is made via internal documentation provided by Asker as well as third party professionals and external stakeholders.
