For Asker*, Data Privacy is a top priority, and we are committed to protect your personal data. In this Data Privacy Process, you will find information about how we are processing your personal data. If you have any questions, you are welcome to send an email to privacy@asker.com.

WHO IS THE CONTROLLER OF YOUR PERSONAL DATA?

Asker is the controller of the personal data.

FROM WHERE DO WE COLLECT PERSONAL DATA?

We collect the personal data from you.

WHAT PERSONAL DATA WILL BE PROCESSED?

We will process your personal data in terms of work-related contact details such as name, address, email address, job title and phone number, where applicable.

WHY DO WE PROCESS YOUR PERSONAL DATA?

We will process your personal data for the purpose to communicate with you regarding business related matters, e.g. appointment of meetings and agreement negotiations, and to deliver requested information, e.g. financial reports. 

WHY DO WE HAVE THE RIGHT TO PROCESS YOUR PERSONAL DATA?

Asker’s legitimate interest in having a contact person to communicate with when conducting business and when sending requested information.

WHO HAS ACCESS TO YOUR PERSONAL DATA?

Only employees at Asker who has a work-related need will have access to your personal data.

HOW LONG WILL YOUR PERSONAL DATA BE PROCESSED?

Considering that several business-related matters may be discussed, your personal data may be processed for different time frames depending on the context. We have however identified a few main areas blow that may occur. 

Agreement related information:

As long as Asker needs to prove that an agreement has been entered into. 

Recommendations from law firms, auditors and other advisory services:
As long as the recommendations or reports are relevant.

Request of information:
As long as Asker needs to prove that the information was delivered in accordance with the request.

YOUR RIGHTS 

You have the right to request access to and rectification or erasure of your personal data. Also, you have the right to request restriction of the processing or to object to it and the right to data portability. Moreover, you have the right to file a complaint to a supervisory authority.

HOW DO WE OBTAIN AND PROCESS YOUR PERSONAL DATA

We always obtain personal data through lawful and transparent means, with explicit consent of an individual where required. Further, the processing of personal data is always limited to the stated purpose. Also, we always strive to be clear about how we collect, use and share personal data, as well as the retention periods of the personal data, including personal data transferred to third parties.

When we appoint a third party for processing personal data, e.g., purchasing a software service, the third party must comply with relevant parts of applicable Group Policies and Procedures.

PROCESSING OF YOUR PERSONAL DATA OUTSIDE THE EU/EEA 

Our main rule is to only process personal data within the EU/EEA. However, just like a big part of the parties operating on the market, we are using Microsoft Office 365 (Outlook). Outlook is our main channel for communicating with our business partners, which means that your personal data will be processed outside the EU/EEA, despite that we are using Microsoft’s European data servers. We are monitoring recommendations and guidelines within this area on an on-going basis.

COOKIES

A cookie is a small text file that is saved on your computer or mobile device and is picked up at a later visit to the same site. Asker uses cookies to improve and simplify your visit. We do not use cookies to store personal data or to disseminate information to third parties.

We use the following cookies:

  1. Session cookies that expires 20 minutes after finished session.

In these cookies, information about your session, choice of language and username is stored. These are processed for the software to remember your choices during use and to handle your login. 

In addition to our own cookies, we may also use third-party cookies. These are statistical cookies that aids Asker in understanding how visitors interact with the web site by gathering and registering data. 

You can deny all cookies at any time, except for necessary cookies, by changing the settings in your browser on your computer, tablet or smart phone. Where the settings are located differs depending on the browser you use. You should however be aware that refusing cookies means that there will be functions and services that you will not be able to use on the website that are dependent on cookies.
