Stronger in Benelux via acquisition of Stöpler with EUR 45 mn in revenue | Asker Healthcare Group

Stöpler, a supplier and knowledge partner in the field of specialist medical equipment, instruments and consumables primarily for hospitals, became part of the Asker Healthcare Group. By joining forces, both are strengthening their positions as partner to healthcare institutions in the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg.

“With Stöpler's strong brands, entrepreneurship and innovative strength, we welcome a major player in the industry to our organisation,” explains a proud Pieter-Jan Jongeling, Business Area Director Asker Healthcare Group.

By becoming a part of Asker Healthcare Group, Stöpler is taking an important step in its 116-year history. The move will allow Stöpler to build on the positions of the global manufacturers of the leading brands it distributes, such as Karl Storz, Ansell and Trumpf, thereby creating a top-class product portfolio and providing first-class service to customers.

Stöpler delivers total solutions for hospitals and other healthcare institutions with a wide range of products and related services for almost all medical specialities, including anaesthesia, urology, surgery, ENT, endoscopy and orthopaedics.

The name is being retained as its own label under the Asker Healthcare Group umbrella. Healthcare institutions can still order the same quality products and receive the same professional services, but can now also benefit from a larger and wider range of products from a all the companies within Asker Healthcare Group’s global network of suppliers. The takeover has no consequences for Stöpler's staff, other than that they can further develop within the new group. The current locations will also be maintained. Asker Healthcare Group’s companies in the Netherlands operates with more than 400 employees under various labels from Eindhoven, Oss and Groningen. Stöpler has 100 employees with locations in Utrecht, Brussels and Luxembourg.

“Market leader Stöpler is a passionate organisation with a long history and great expertise,” says Mark van de Camp, founder of QRS and director of Business Development in Asker’s subsidiary in Netherlands. “The acquisition is fully in line with our growth ambitions in the Benelux, and cooperating with Stöpler will make us stronger. We combine the customer orientation that characterises these organisations, and the personal attention and professionalism that comes with them, with the advantages of our international network. This is a major milestone for us, as together we can provide even better and more affordable care for all.”
