Asker awarded Silver for its sustainability work

Asker Healthcare Group has received a Silver rating from the independent ESG rating agency Ecovadis for the work within environment, social responsibility and governance.

The rating is based on data from 2021 and places Asker among the 16 percent highest rated companies of the over 90,000 companies Ecovadis rates worldwide.

The need for medical supplies, devices and equipment in the healthcare sector puts pressure on the planet in terms of production, transportation and waste. As a leading European provider within this area, Asker operates right in the middle of this value chain, serving as a vital link between production and consumption. This puts Asker in a unique position to drive progress in the area of sustainability.

“This is our first external review and the silver rating is confirmation that we are on the right path in our efforts to improve sustainability within healthcare. For many years we have worked actively in taking social responsibility in our supply chain and we have now also ambitious targets for emissions, not just our own, but for the whole value chain – from production of healthcare products to how the waste is handled. The rating provides us with valuable insights of how we can improve our ESG-work going forward”, says Sanna Norman Head of ESG Asker Healthcare Group.

Ecovadis rates companies based on the standards of GRI, UNGC and ISO 26000 in four themes: Environmental, Labor & Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement. The assessment is made via internal documentation provided by Asker as well as third party professionals and external stakeholders.
