Health in progress, in practice
Our purpose, Health in progress, takes many different forms. Here, we share stories from our companies that show how we contribute to improved patient outcomes, reduced total costs of care, and a fair and sustainable value chain, every day.

Cross-border collaboration benefits customers
Vegro has not only found knowledge exchange and community within Asker, but also used the Group to expand its product range and improve its organic growth.

Innovative solution supports Swiss nursing homes
Several companies in the Group have developed practical digital tools to support customers in their daily work. Praxicare, a unique innovative software from Praximedico, is a clear example of this.

Automated monitoring makes bedside care safer
When someone's health suddenly deteriorates, every minute is crucial for the nurses and doctors treating the patient. MDI Medical, part of the HSL Group, has developed a simple monitoring solution that sends the patient’s vital signs directly into the hospital's monitoring system.

Digital boost in healthcare with Onewound
Onemed in Sweden, together with Kramfors Municipality, has developed safer and more effective wound care and reduced suffering for patients through its wound care programme and Onewound, which includes training, new ways of working and digital support.

Wearables and AI to support emergency staff
Supporting emergency care personnel in difficult situations is the focus of a project exploring how to combine wearable tech and artificial intelligence (AI).

Caring for the tiniest, most vulnerable patients
QRS Healthcare, one of Asker’s companies, played a critical role in the successful implementation of an innovative IV therapy solution at a children’s hospital in the Netherlands.

Digital solutions simplify care professionals' work
Using digital solutions, Asker can make it simpler for patients and care professionals to find the right product and thus reduce costs and make the care professional’s work more efficient.

Exploring improved energy efficiency methods
In line with Asker’s ambition to support its customers and the healthcare sector in Europe to reduce the climate footprint, Evercare Medical is investigating methods to improve energy efficiency in the manufacturing of examination gloves made from nitrile.

Taking the lead on more sustainable procurement
Several healthcare organisations in Europe are taking the lead on more sustainable procurement. The public sector in the Nordic countries is relatively far ahead of the game, and Oslo municipality is a shining example.

Innovation and collaboration for reduced impact
Innovative solutions and collaboration are needed throughout the entire value chain in order to respond to today’s and tomorrow’s environmental and social challenges. For the last few years, Evercare Medical has been developing a range of products that reduce negative environmental and social impact.

Finding new products that makes a difference
Asker is always searching for innovative solutions in the field of medical supplies, devices and equipment that can improve patient outcomes and reduce the total cost of care. Hanna Merikanto and her colleagues at Onemed in Finland describe how they identified a new wound care solution that led to one patient’s remarkable recovery.

Own audit office has a positive impact
Many countries have adopted laws intended to deal with poor working conditions and environmental pollution. Unfortunately compliance with these laws is sometimes inadequate. To ensure the compliance of third-party manufacturers, Asker has its own audit office based in China, India and Malaysia.

Supporting migrant workers in Malaysia
South-east Asia is a central hub for the medical glove industry, with Malaysia and Thailand producing 83 per cent of the global supply. When Asker began conducting audits of third-party manufacturers in the region in 2013, the Group identified significant health and safety risks for migrant workers employed in glove manufacturing facilities.
