Asker supports health initiative in India

Asker Healthcare Group is actively promoting good health and wellbeing in accordance with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 3. From 2023, Asker will support Basic HealthCare Services, a not-for-profit organisation in India. The aim is to make a positive difference where it is needed the most and provide the local community with basic healthcare. The initiative is being undertaken in collaboration with Social Initiative.

Basic HealthCare Services operates in South Rajasthan, India, where a large part of the population live in rural areas with limited access to quality healthcare, which is reflected in generally poor health and high mortality rates. The not-for-profit organisation, Basic HealthCare Services, reaches these communities through a network of health centres and by strengthening the local healthcare system.

“We have decided to support Basic HealthCare Services to promote good health and improve patient outcomes where this is needed the most. The organisation also operates in a region where there are many migrant workers, some working with production of medical supplies, devices and equipment, and we want to help these workers and their families. We hope to be able to support Basic HealthCare Services in several ways, for example, by sharing our employees’ expertise and know-how in the area of medical treatments,” says Sanna Norman, Head of ESG at Asker Healthcare Group.

Asker Healthcare Group is committed to supporting the healthcare system to improve patient outcomes, reduce total cost of care and ensure a fair and sustainable value chain. Supporting Basic HealthCare Services is a part of this commitment.
